His sharply-slanted eyes are almost completely white, offset only by the small black pupils in their centers. His disembodied hands float by his sides at all times, occasionally harboring a thin aura about them. Numerous fang-like spikes trail along his large, gaping mouth, resting just before his stretchy pink tongue. While overall unremarkable, he sometimes takes on a more classy look by wearing a black top hat and a matching cape, the latter of which has tassels tied around his midsection to secure it.
-Character-
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Personality: Rascal's one who's always looking for a good laugh. He can get his jollies from just about anywhere, but he's a particular fan of slapstick. To some, this may seem like he derives joy from the misfortune of others; in actuality, he dislikes for other people to be in pain or be humiliated, but that doesn't stop the happenings that cause said discord from being humorous to him. Sometimes, he's merely an innocent bystander who gets to witness something funny, but other times, he may be the one causing it. His actions may lead some to dislike him, as they might see him as a trickster or a thief, but if any of his acts end in him relieving someone of their possessions, he generally returns them later in a discreet fashion. Being overall jovial -- if a bit overzealous -- he also likes to make others laugh as well. He knows, however, that it's impossible to please everyone, and that's why he doesn't even attempt to do so. All he does is try to be himself, aiming to get as much of a crowd cackling with him as he can.
Bio: Since as far back as he can remember, Rascal's always had two things he loves: making others laugh, and making others mesmerized. Originally, though, it was just the former. As a Gastly, he'd float about and play light pranks on his friends, tell jokes and the like. Being a Ghost-type, he found that his ability to levitate and faze through walls made this rather easy for him. Very early on in his life, he and his buddies were sometimes bullied by more forceful or rambunctious Pokemon. That quickly changed when Rascal would sneak into their homes at night and mess with them. Flickering their lights on and off, making disturbing noises, placing their limbs in warm water while they slept, or sometimes slightly more destructive jokes. While he'd never think of hurting his friends or innocent individuals, those that invoked his ire were fair game in his mind. He didn't suffer abrasiveness lightly. Eventually, word got around that anybody who messed with his group were equally messed with. Nothing could be pinned on him, but some still suspected him, causing him to be ostracized in some circles. For this, he didn't particularly care, for he was happy with just keeping others safe and telling jokes. This soon changed, however, but in a subjectively positive way.
One day, while taking a legless stroll about the town, he passed by a group who had gathered around a sole individual. Hovering over them to get a closer look, he saw that it was a Grumpig that everyone was so entranced by. The purple-and-black Pokemon had on a dark blue cape covered in glistening, silver stars. He looked rather wry as he performed for those present, dazzling them with card tricks, magic rings and hypnotism, among other things. Rascal watched on, completely enchanted. He hadn't ever seen anything like it. While he knew that it couldn't be real magic, he was fascinated nonetheless. Time flowed on, and as the crowd eventually grew tired and dispersed, Rascal flew down to meet the Grumpig face to face. They chatted a bit, and the Gastly learned that the porcine Psychic-type was what was known as a magician. The performer conceded that, while some of his acts were manifestations of his innate psychic abilities, most of them were mere illusions. Expressing his interest in the art, the Grumpig agreed to teach him some tricks from his repertoire if he joined him as a protege. With great elation, Rascal was swiftly taken under his wing, and over time learned all that the experienced Pokemon knew. The last thing that the Grumpig taught him was how to do a proper sleight-of-hands, the knowledge of which he attained shortly after evolving and actually gaining hands. Since his period of tutelage has ended, he's been traveling from town to town, putting on shows for all to see, and likewise causing a bit of playful mischief along the way.
