When making a new character, is there a level that you have to start off with, or can you start with any level you want?

This site is statless, which means that we don't use levels and that the Pokémon don't gain experience.

As the members above me stated, this site is leveless for the most part. We do use stats, but to increase those, you need to use items.
So far, levels are only used for if you want to evolve a second-stage pokemon that uses levels to evolve (ie: a Charmeleon into a Charizard), but other than that aren't really used to determine power.
In case you're curious about moves, those are learned in dungeon threads, and characters have a possibility to learn those after a battle. The move pool depends on how far you are in a dungeon.
