The entrance to the inactive volcano was warm, but not nearly as hot as it was years ago. Inside, it could get much hotter, and those going inside must be aware of the numerous fire pokemon, desperate to defend what's left of their home. It was said that, despite the heat, various rare, unique berries could be found because of the minerals- the only question was where they could grow.
-
Samantha looked at the entrance to the volcano. The ground felt warm under her feet, but just that, warm. Perhaps it should have been warmer; she recalled reading about volcanoes before, that even the entrance of some of them could be too much for water pokemon. She also heard that this volcano was getting to be inactive as well- she smirked to herself, sure that her and her partner's type could easily clear the dungeon, although there was another team with them.
She turned to the other pokemon, "So, ready to go?"

Jackson wasn't sure why another team had signed on to do the job with him and Sam. Not that he was complaining, but it was odd. He was glad to have a three water pokemon on this job. He looked at the entrance. When he had first accepted this job, the Growlithe thought of how he was just going to have to muscle through most of this dungeon and why the stupid Munchlax just couldn't get berries from Berry Meadow. He wasn't even sure if the challenge was worth the reward. Three Blasts seeds and 500 Poke was not a lot to split four ways. He sighed.
Jackson looked around at the gathered Pokemon. An Oshawatt named Syd, a Piplup named Samantha, and Samuel the Buizel, his partner.
"Not a bad team to send into a dungeon filled with fire-Pokemon," the Growlithe thought. Samantha had asked if they were ready to go. Jackson thought about the dungeon and what it would be like on the inside. Maybe it would be the home he'd never known, a home of Fire-Types. He took a deep breath. No time for petty thoughts and wishes.
"I-I'm ready," Jackson said. He looked over at Sam, "What about you?"

Ready as I'll ever be, Jack. After all, what could possibly go wrong with 3 water-types on the same team? Samuel looked at his partner, with a determined look on his face. Just try to keep up, ok? with that the buizel ran off into the dungeon, ready to take on anything that came his way.

Sydney only nodded, overconfidently knocking his scalchop. "Sam, you already know the answer to that question." He replied, though watched as Sam (the other Sam) proceeded in. "Wow.. Um, someone's eager." He said, shaking his stub of a hand. "Well, I guess that's our starting flag."

As the group ventured inside, there were still signs that the volcano was still trying to keep itself alive. Little streams of magma were here and there, the occasional ember would flicker, providing some light in the otherwise dark area.
There was another flicker of light, this one different from the embers. It was a pile of poke, just sitting there for the taking. By it was several Chesto berries, not in the absolute best condition, but just good enough to still retain their effects. It was unknown where they came from, from the looks of it, both items might have been dropped somehow, but were both for the taking.
A Numel spotted the items, moving towards them. However, they also spotted the other pokemon, and assuming they must want the items as well, they glared at the other pokemon.
-
Samantha went through the tunnel, so to speak, in the volcano, thankful for the small streams of lava and embers that lighted the way. Otherwise, she was sure that she'd be as blind as a Zubat. She started to wonder why the Munchlax would want berries here of all places- this seemed like a terrible place to look! Still, she supposed that a job was a job, doing good and helping and all that...
She stopped at another sight, what appeared to be... another light? She narrowed her eyes, attempting to get a clearer look. As she stepped closer, she could make out several yellow coins... poke! She'd heard that dungeons had all sorts of items scattered about, this must be their lucky day! That was all she needed to go forward towards the items, not spotting the berries yet, "Come on guys, there's some poke-" she was interrupted when another pokemon stepped forward; a Numel, as she recalled reading. They glared at her and the other pokemon, as if they were sending a warning. One one hand, finders keepers, but on the other, they could easily take this pokemon on.
"Hey now... there are several water pokemon here, I'm one of them." she said, figuring that she might as well say a warning. Perhaps it might just work.
(( Just as a quick note, those berries are for all of our characters to collect once the enemy is dealt with. ))

Jackson had bounded after his friend into the tunnel, but skidded to a stop early on, making sure to not out run the other Pokemon. The Growlithe jogged down the rest of the hallway until he came to the end of the tunnel. It would be a sight to behold if weren't so dang dark. Jackson walked around the dungeon using various sparks and lava glows as a light source. He eventually found a small pile of Poke glittering in the darkness and the Chesto berries next to it.
I guess the items we find make the dungeon worthwhile he thought. The Growlithe's ears pricked up at the sound of shuffling feet nearby. A Numel appeared and glared at the gathered Pokemon. It made it known that this treasure was its. Jackson looked back at the others.
"Don't waste your energy on this guy, I'll get him," he turned back to the Numel, "Let's dance," Jackson said as he Intimidated his foe. Jackson followed up with an Ember attack.

((edit: Thanks for clarifying that. Sorry about the mistake)) Samuel was only slightly at the head of the group when he noticed that the rest had stopped for some reason. He looked back, just in time to see the others confronted by a Numel. He was getting ready for a quick attack, seeing as how he didn't want to waste his energy with a watergun, but stopped as soon as his partner spoke and stepped towards the enemy. Alright then, he's yours, but I get the next one! After that sentence, the buizel sat back to watch his partner work.

Sydney was about to attack it when Jackson spoke up. Grumpy, he sat back while he did the work. He sort of wanted a bit of action, which was a bit unlikely. "I guess we'll just wait this one out, then.." He muttered, looking around.

The Numel ignored the Piplup's warning, standing their ground. They flinched as the Growilithe intimidated them, and from the Growlithe came their way, and while it was apparent that there was some damage done, due to the type disadvantage it didn't do as much damage as it would have done.
The Numel retaliated by charging towards the pokemon, trying to tackle any one of them.
-
Samantha sighed. Well, it wasn't like she didn't warn them... however, she stopped herself when the Growlithe said that they'd take the pokemon, and at first she shrugged, stepping back. As she watched from afar, however, she realized that due to the typing, the battle might not be over as soon as it should without the types.
"As much as I'd like to let him take this battle," she began, "I think it'd be much better if one of us took him on as well."

(Clarify: What are the Numel's stats) Jackson watched as the Numel charged at no one in particular with a Tackle. He looked at the other Pokemon. They seemed tensed up and ready to fight.
I said I had this, so there's no way someone else is getting involved, Jackson thought angrily to himself. He didn't want to be the liability of the group. He hadn't thought about Numel being resistant to Fire, but he would finish this battle. Jackson charged forward to get in front of the Numel. Jackson faced the charging Pokemon and got ready. When the Numel got to him, Jackson fell back onto his back and used Reversal to use the Numel's own momentum against it and throw it into a wall.

Come on Jack, you can do it The Buizel cheered his partner on as he hit the Numel with an ember, but shut up as soon as he saw the numel try to attack the others. Well that isn't very fair. But I'm sure they can handle themselves. as he continued watching, He held his breath as jackson jumped in front of the attaxking Numel, and shouted as his friend pulled of a Reversal. This was a good fight to start off the day.

Sydney was just about to go to town at the Numel when it was headed for him and the others, until Jackson came and saved them. From there the Oshawott sat down and crossed his arms a bit impatiently. "I will say one thing, that Numel is resilient.."

(( HP: 15/20
Attack: 2 -1 by Intimidate
Special: 2
Endurance and Evasiveness: 2
Cleverness: 1
Luck: 1
Growl, Tackle ))
The Numel continued to run forward, quickly deciding that they'd just attack the Growlithe, who was the one who'd attacked them in the first place. As they hit the Growlithe, what they didn't expect was the quick counter attack, and they found themself being flung back, hitting a wall. They slowly got up, shaking their head and, while still rearing to go in attitude, their body was weak.
-
Samantha nodded at her partner's comment. It seemed as if no one else wanted to join the battle, and she wasn't about to be the rude one who just jumped in, even if she did think that a water type could easily speed this thing up.
As she watched, she noticed that the Numel was weaker from his last attack, "You can finish him!" she yelled, unsure of what else to do at this point.
(( After the attack, the Numel has 7/20 HP. Jackson has 97/100 HP. ))

Jackson rolled back onto his feet. The Numel was recovering, but still very injured. The Growlithe bounded at the Numel and slid below in with his back to its stomach. Using Reversal, Jackson shot up to a standing position, throwing the Numel back into the wall. As he watched, Jackson smiled.
Never thought I'd see a flying Numel, he thought.

Woohoo! show him all you've got! For a fire on fire battle, the growlithe was doing exceptionally well. Nice move, Jack! he said as the Numel flew across the room.
