A guide to what some abilities do in this RP, as their effects aren't such an obvious translation.
If you're confused about what an ability does, ask here.

Although it's a move and not an ability, I was wondering how the move pursuit would work in this rpg. Perhaps it doubles the strength of the move if used on a fleeing pokemon, since pokemon can't exactly be switched out?

I think that would work.

I'm also curious about a move. How would Roar work since it ends battles

It'd probably send the opposing pokemon off then- even a player's own characters, although I usually wouldn't have a dungeon pokemon know that move.

Im wondering, can I use the ability contrary? It would lead to a lot of confusing situations in which group-effects become not-so-friendly and lead to a lot of odd situations in which my charactor's saying things like: "Quick, (poison-type here), Poison me!"

I use contrary, I just use it as all stat lower moves (Regardless who or what uses them) Raises my stats, and all stat raising moves (Again regardless who uses them )Lowers my stats.

OK good, then no one will report me for actually becoming stronger when they use a move with weakened. Yay! but if someone uses a group focused or enlightened ability, just for the roleplay, can I be hopelessly confused?
