The Haunter tried to dodge the Shadow Sneak attack, but ended up getting hit again, nearly falling to the ground again, "You've gotten better, that much is true..., but you're still just a child. Fighting for your petty-" before he could finish, he was suddenly hit by the flames of an Ember attack, and winced in pain as they hit his face, covering his face with his hands, but it was evident that the attack still did it's damage.
Aires scurried even further away once another pokemon jumped in, who used Ember to attack the pokemon. He knew well enough that fire hurt him badly, and while it wasn't aimed at him, he didn't want to get hit by it. He was unsure of what to do, usually not being one to immediately take sides... However, seeing the Kirlia act like this, when she was so calm before, told him that the Haunter must have done something to make her act like this...
Aires hurried forward, turning backwards to use String Shot at the Haunter. Aires wasn't the best pokemon for battle, but he felt as if he should help somehow.
The Haunter suddenly felt silk tighten around him, and his movement was restricted and slower. The Haunter's mocking smile soon turned into an expression of annoyance, "Does this look like any of your business?!" they took a deep breath, "Pokemon these days..." they mumbled, before producing a ball of light that spun around, hoping to use Confuse Ray on the opposing Growlithe.

Jackson watched as his Ember made contact with the Haunter's face and it fell back. The Growlithe grinned, knowing he had down some damage. Off to the side, the Ariados shot a String Shot, tying up the Haunter. It didn't look so smug anymore.
"Does this look like any of your business," it asked Jackson,"Pokemon these days..."
Jackson watched as the Haunter made the small ball of light that was Confuse Ray and launched it at him. Jackson laughed as he easily dodged out of the way.
He looked at the Haunter and said,"The String Shot slowed you down too much. That was too easy." A look of seriousness suddenly fell across the Growlithe's face,"Now leave here and never bother us again." He punctuated his sentence with a Roar and attempted to Intimidate the Haunter.

Nix watched as the other pokemon fell back from her attack and moved again to try and take her down but an attack from behind made her jump, embers shot past her side and hit the haunter and she span on her toes to look. A growlithe, someone she didnt know, had just stepped in and she found her rage state didnt look kindly on this. "BACK THE HELL OFF" she snapped at the other pokemon, "I CAN DEFEND MYSELF" she growled at him before she turned back to the haunter who was still on the floor
The spider she had come in with had now added an attack to the pile so she gave him a hiss before she stepped towards the ghost type, "i know if wasnt you, you are too small and too weak to be him. But he's like you, you are related. Am i right?" she said in growl of a voice and the ghost type moves his eyes to look at her. The pokemon behind her added in more words and roared at the ghost earning another glare from nix who lifted a hand and wrapped her confusion attack around the string holding him still, "and now, you are trapped" she said in a dark hiss of a voice. The pokemon suddenly went very quiet, his face seeming almost to pale. There were 3 pokemon around him, 2 males who were happy to attack and a female who had a personal grudge and seemed to be happy to rip him into tiny little bits. Time to stop the mouthing off, "what do you want? What am i supposed to do to make it better for you?" he snapped back at the kirlia, how was he supposed to change what his father had done in the past
*i'll have him now*

Jackson finally began to take in his surroundings. The Kirlia had appeared in front of him and glared at him. She was using Confusion to further trap the Haunter. Jackson could read emotions well and could tell the Kirlia had something personal, which is why he stepped in. Personal grudges could lead to some bad outcomes. The reason he had used Roar was to scare off the Haunter before the Kirlia would do anything she'd regret. But he was too late. He wasn't processing what was going on around him and the Kirlia had already trapped the Haunter when Jackson used Roar, so nothing happened. The Haunter seemed truly afraid and talked to the Kirlia, who just stood there.
"Crap," he thought. He had to do something. He walked up next to the Kirlia. "Do or die time."
Jackson stood in front of her and saw pure hate in her eyes. The Kirlia looked like she was ready to kill the Haunter. Jackson growled to get her attention. The Growlithe looked right into her hate filled eyes and thought to himself,"I never thought i would be tempting fate this way before."
Jackson finally said,"Don't do this."

Aires went back once again, whatever bravery he felt disappeared once the Kirlia hissed at him, and this time, he got the message. He could only watch, or at least he felt as if he could only do such, at least the string shot he had done came in handy..., but still, what was going on? So the Haunter wasn't the one who did... whatever made her act this way, but he was related.
Looking back to the Growlithe, he watched as the Growlithe went towards the Kirlia, something he wasn't sure if he wanted to do again, at least not at the moment. He shuffled his legs nervously, unsure of what he should do in this situation. Pausing, he finally got the courage to speak out, "What... happened? With the Haunter...?"

Nix curled her hand tighter and she watched as the ghost pokemon winced as her attack pulled him closer, she could see him wincing in pain at her actions but she was too angry. "look, my dad does what he does to just make money. He likes to be rich and doesn't care who or what gets hurt, its not something i can change" the ghost type said and nix hissed before she pointed at his stall. "hence the ripped off and faked item you sell, run in the family does it?" she growled and the ghost type shrugged as best someone in binds can. "Gotta make a living" he answered before nix hissed, "of course, the suffering of others is a good for cash" she growled at him before she saw the fire type move at the side of her vision. The pokemon stepped before her and she glared down at him, "i think i have the right to make him suffer, he rips of other pokemon and his damned family stole and sold mine" she snapped at the growlithe

Jackson listened to what the Kirlia had to say. Learning of her plight, he looked at her in a different light. He understood her pain.
"You're right. You do have the right. Just..." the Growlithe paused. What should he say next? Jackson thought for a moment.
"Just don't do anything you'll regret," he finished. Then he stepped aside and let the Kirlia finish.

Now Aires understood a bit more- He wasn't sure of how he'd feel if someone tried to sell his family... the thought made him pause for a moment. He wasn't sure of if he'd show such anger as she did. The Haunter certainly didn't do... many good things, that was for sure, but did he really deserve what the Kirlia might do to him?
Unable to really contribute anything to the situation, Aires continued to watch.

Nixs eyes were burning like flames and they were currently on the growlithe, part of her burning to throw him aside and rip this ghost to bits but another part of her said no. She had watched her family get sold, she had watched her mother and baby sister get attacked and her father was beaten until he could barely move, she had been part of the group until the gengar took her aside for his own means and she had shadow whipped him in the face. She shuddered at the memories and then heard a yelp of pain and her eyes snapped to her target again, her control of the string was indeed crushing the ghost. She looked at him for a long moment before she dropped her hands and the string fell away, "I refuse to stoop as low as you" she hissed at him as she let her hands fall to her sides and then she turned to the fire type. "thanks" she said simply before a small breeze moved past her side, she dodged off one foot as the haunter came at her in a pay back attack and she swung her arms round. They coated with shadows in seconds and then blasted directly into the face of the Pokemon and sent him slamming backwards, "I won't stoop as low as you, I'll still kick your ass" she growled as he dropped down onto the ground

Jackson watched in surprise as the Kirlia thanked him. Her hate-filled eyes softened, showing that Jackson had calmed her down from her blind rage. She was no longer going to kill the Haunter. He didn't know he has that kind of affect on . He continued to watch as the Kirlia talked to the Haunter and proceeded to beat him into the ground. Jackson took a step back. What was happening in front of him surprised him even more than the thanks from the Kirlia.
"Never before have I seen a Kirlia fight so ferociously," the Growlithe said.

Aires couldn't help but sigh a breath of relief as the Kirlia seemed to calm down, at least enough to not want to kill the Haunter now. Just as he thought the battle was over, the Haunter had picked himself up again, attempting to attack the Kirlia again. He tensed up, ready to use String Shot again, but it seemed as if the Kirlia had it taken care of it, leaving the Haunter to fall to the ground once again.
Coming forward, Aires looked at the Haunter before sticking his tongue out at him, showing his disapproval. He looked back at the Kirlia, smiling, as if he were trying to lighten the mood, "You used that shadow attack well!" Aires said.

Jackson walked forward again. He came next to the Kirlia and Ariados. The Growlithe quickly looked over at the Haunter.
"He's not getting up," Jackson concluded. He thought to himself how much he had come out of his shell in those last moments. He had actually talked to other Pokemon without choking! Really weird for him, but he pushed it aside. More pressing matters were at hand.
"You-you're a good fighter," the Growlithe choked out. He was shying up now that the battle was over,"I'm Ja-Jackson," He held out his paw in friendship and smiled weakly,"May I a-ask your names?"
"Crap," Jackson thought," why do I have to be so shy?"

Nix watched the ghost on the floor for a few moments before the two boys behind her spoke and she found herself smiling a little, "a women enraged is not something to make or handle lightly" she said with a little grin she thought about her fathers discussing her mothers bad moods with her as a child. "I fight because I believe in a fair world and Pokemon like this scum and it's father don't, and so, I get very angry" she said simply to the other comment to her before the fire type began to stumble over his words and her smile softened. Clearly one that the adrenaline of battle aided, "my name is nix, though I know some call me shadow" she said with a little nod of her head
*do we all get any/some exp for that?*

(( Sorry to say that you don't, partially because we sort of don't use an EXP system here, and for the most part you only get technical things such as that in Dungeon threads, and this isn't one of them. ))
Aires noticed the sudden stuttering of the Growlithe and tilted their head- in a way, it was almost like a reverse personality change in comparison to how the Kirlia changed. He reflected on how he himself acted; it wasn't as big a change, but usually in a situation such as this he might have run away, but instead, he actually stuck around and helped... Strange, how Pokemon could change under different conditions.
He listened to the Kirlia speak, nodding as she spoke. He decided to keep in mind that he shouldn't mention humans around her again... it didn't seem to put her in the best of moods, so to speak.
"Aires." he said, pointing to himself. He paused, thinking about what the Kirlia said, "... What would you consider a 'fair world'?" he asked, wondering if he'd get as direct an answer like when he first asked about her species.

So their names are Nix and Aires, Jackson thought. He guessed that it was good to meet other Pokemon and get to know them. He looked at Nix. Her smile and eyes was very soft in his direction, Nix seems very nice.
"S-shadow is a very fi-fitting nickname, considering how w-well you use Dark attacks," Jackson complimented. He didn't answer Aires questions, preferring to leave views out of it so as to not start a fight.
"Why a-are you guys here," Jackson asked, "I d-didn't think people just c-come to Candle Village and s-start trouble for no re-reason."
