Hello and welcome to the site! If you're reading this, you might be interested in joining, or perhaps you already have. Either way, there are some rules that all and any members should follow, to uphold order.
Also, this an account-per-member site. Meaning that you can only make one account, and play all your characters on that account.
1. Respect the other members.
Please respect each other, meaning that you shouldn't be rude for no reason. Discussion should stay civil and you shouldn't divulge into insults unless it's very apparent that you're joking.
This also goes for criticism; I know that in other places critique is harsher, but here, polite critique is encouraged. For those receiving critique, please don't throw a fit just because someone pointed out something about your character.
1.5 Also respect the mods and admin.
While I don't want to put myself or other mods on some pedestal, please respect my decisions as an admin, and the mods' choices as well. If you have a problem with them, feel free to say so, but sometimes my word is final.
However, I will not tolerate a moderator abusing their power in an unfair way, and if you suspect such please report them and I'll be sure to look them over.
2. At most, the content will be PG-13
For one, Proboards itself is rated PG-13. The PMD games are also rated to be kid friendly... even with all the dark stuff within it. Even then, the series itself was never too graphic.
There may be violence and romance, but nothing too graphic. Minor cussing, such as crap, damn, hell, ect. are allowed, but nothing like f-bombs.
3. No god-modding, auto-hitting, or controlling characters that aren't yours to control.
The only exceptions to this rule are
Basically, you can't control someone's character, the only exception being if they allow you to. It's encouraged that you ask if you're unsure about if your post might be GMing.
Auto-hitting would be making attacks hit without giving the player a chance to respond. For example:
Nichole hit Sandy in the lower left jaw.
This is auto-hitting. Instead, you can have a character aim for a certain place, but the other character still has a chance to dodge. Example:
Nichole threw a punch at Sandy, aiming for the lower left jaw.
But you shouldn't have your character be all-powerful and unable to beat, like dodging all the attacks a character throws at them. The only exceptions would be if the character is exceptionally stronger than another, or if the other player wants their character to lose on purpose, or if it's for plot reasons.
You also can't have your character know things that they ultimately shouldn't.
Finally, you can't kill other characters without permission.
4. Posting Standards.
Proper grammar and spelling should be used. If you're unsure, then there's a spell check that you can use to help you. Typos are fine, since I make those all the time. However, your posts cannot be like this:
'hi jake' lisa said
The posting style should essentially be like this:
Bob was walking down the hallway and saw Kay, "How are you Kay?" he asked her.
Do not RP like this:
*bob walks down the hallway*
Bob:Hi kay!
Or this:
-Walks down hallway-
Or any RPing like that in general, unless it's OOC.
If you must, you may use first and second person, though it's discouraged because it might be confusing.
No 'chat' or '1337' speak in your RP posts.
Finally, the minimum post length is 3 lines, please don't do any less than that.
5. Private Threads
Please respect threads that are marked 'private', or have any other indication that they're not open for everyone. I'd suggest to PM the OP of the thread if you're unsure about if it's open or not, and that you should mark private threads as private and vise versa.
Some threads might also be private as a necessity, such as dungeon threads.
6. OOC Chat
OOC chat should stay out of the RPing sections, but if you absolutely must make a note of something, then use something to differentiate between the OOC and the RPing.
On a side note, topics should be posted in their proper boards, or they will be moved to their proper place.
7. Spoilers
Please warn for all and any spoilers for the PMD games, and any media in general. This is more of an encouragement, but it would be much appreciated.
8. Do not fake what you don't have.
Mainly this applies to more technical situations such as in dungeons. If you don't have a certain item, then you can't use said item. Do not lie about having enough money to buy something- Of course, mistakes are understandable.
9. Mods that submit applications must have them reviewed by another mod.
This is only fair, and I will be following it too- However, there are exceptions, and these are to help the site. Mainly these exceptions are in the NPC jobs.
10. Activity
Now, there's no activity checks, but it's encouraged that if you cannot be here for an extended period of time, that you make an absence thread if possible.
If an account is made, but there are zero posts on it in a month, then it is deleted.
Now, if a member has posts on their account does go away for a very long time, their account won't be deleted and personal progress/characters will be intact.
If their characters had relationships with other members (ie, made a team, were friends, ect.), and they've been away for more than a month with no prior warning, then it's up to the other member(s) that are still active to decide what happens to that relationship, so long as it's not too invasive to the inactive character. If it's a team, then the member(s) still active may take control of that team. If an account with characters who have relationships is instantly deleted, then the other members may skip the month wait.
These rules also apply to the Cbox.
Also, this an account-per-member site. Meaning that you can only make one account, and play all your characters on that account.
