In the distance, a snap of thunder could be heard, which indicated that another thunderstorm would be on the rise. Such was common here, and the pokemon properly hardened up. Pokemon unfamiliar the conditions might find them frightening, especially if they were lost within the long grasses, which might be deemed too long and burned down.

Echo flinched and clung on to Reido's arm when she heard the loud booming of thunder. Even if Skyline City, her home, had encountered close calls with thunderstorms before, she was never used to it. "M-M-Master Reido..."
"Hey I told you not to call me 'Master'." the Kirlia snapped, but didn't mind the Chingling grasping his arm tightly. He didn't let his guard down, knowing that this area was teeming with wild Pokemon and he was completely unfamiliar with this place. His other hand was on his sling bag in case another Pokemon planned to steal from it, but at the moment there was nothing in there. Not yet.
Echo couldn't help it; she was trained to address her master with their proper title despite knowing each other since they were very little. She was used to this response and didn't bother to reply. Instead she inquired about the job that they had just taken a while back, doubt obviously in her voice. "I'm scared, Master Reido, what if we don't find him in time? What if the Pokemon here are too strong? What if--"
"Echo it's going to be fine. Promise. Just stop worrying." he had to admit, those same questions and so many more were running through his mind. He had to stay calm though. He wasn't just going to fail his first job ever.

The grasses were banded together, making a sort of thick wall that was difficult to go through. There were some paths from already worn down grasses that other pokemon must have gone through before.
There was rumbling in the distance, signaling that another thunder strike might happen soon. Up ahead, there was much softer grass that could be walked upon, and in entering in, one might notice a shiny reflection- perhaps one of gold? Or maybe it was from items.
However, there was also a pokemon hiding within the grass clearing. It was short enough to not be seen, but a single, yellow four-pointed tail end could be spotted from afar. Some sparks could also be seen, frying the grasses near them, either being a warning or a preparation for battle.

"Ugh, this grass is so hard to push aside." Reido muttered, wishing that he was already a Gallade like his dad. His father could've easily cut this annoying tall grass away with Leaf Blade, effectively saving them a lot of time, but he was just a Kirlia...he had no choice but to brave through it.
The green wall suddenly became softer, and Echo was the first to notice a sort of sparkle nearby. "Master Reido, there seems to be something there..." she whispered, sensing that there were hostile Pokemon nearby.
The Kirlia scanned the area and then squinted when he spotted something a twinge bit familiar. "A Shinx's tail...if we want to see what it is then we're going to have to fight."
"Or talk..." the Chingling added, wanting to avoid battling as much as possible.
Reido thought about that other option but there was a very tiny chance that the wild Pokemon was actually friendly, let alone willing to talk. He stepped out in to the open to take a closer look at the object, but his guard was up, ready to use Confusion at a moment's notice. "Hey, is this yours? 'Cuz if it isn't we're taking it...whatever it is."

The Shinx scampered to get in front of the Kirlia, sparks wildly flying around it's cheeks that singed some of the lower grasses, "Well, of course it's mine!" they exclaimed, "I found it first!"
Seeing the Kirlia as a threat to their 'possessions', the Shinx charged forward, attempting to knock the Kirlia back by using Tackle.

((Does recruiting new Pokemon in dungeons apply here or no? XD It would be fun for that to happen but it sounds too complicated hehe.))
Reido's eyes narrowed as soon as the Shinx's legs started moving, preparing to do a Tackle Attack. With his right arm raised, his eyes glowed a light blue, planning to use Confusion to stop the opponent in its tracks. "Finders keepers? That doesn't really apply here."
Echo was close to her master, ready to use Astonish if she had to.

(( ... Kind of? I thought that it might be pointless, seeing as how one can make their own characters, but I suppose that having an enemy pokemon join you as a temporary 'helper' wouldn't hurt. You're also free to make your own characters based on the ones shown in dungeons! ))
The Shinx continued towards the Kirlia until they finally struck them. However, the Kirlia'a attack also hit them, and rather hard at that, sending them down to the ground. It was clear that a blow was taken, but the Shinx managed to get back up, shaking their head, "Well... if you want it, then you'll have to go through me!" they shouted.
Some more sparks came from the Shinx, but they were not in an offensive move. Rather, the Shinx was using them to increase it's special defense against the Kirlia.

((Haha yeah, I guess. XD Wait, Tackle then Confusion? Aww darn I thought Confusion could hit them first >U))
Reido took the brunt of the Tackle attack, sending him staggering back a few steps, but was still standing strong. He had been hit harder before during training with his father and brother, but it didn't mean it didn't hurt.
He watched as the Shinx release more electricity. The Kirlia thought he was planning to use Spark, but noticing that he wasn't moving, he quickly figured out he was using Charge. "Echo, Growl!"
The Chingling obediently and quickly opened its mouth, letting out a loud shriek that seemed to shake the air itself. While his partner was using Growl, Reido's eyes glowed red, planning to put the Shinx to sleep with Hypnosis.

The Shinx twitched, ears hurting from the rather painful-sounding shrieks of the Chinging. They staggered, as now their attack was weakened, but still prepared to attack again. They ran forward, this time aiming for the Chinging. Their movements staggered, getting more and more lethargic, before slowing down to a walk. The Shinx, despite all their willpower, succumbed to dropping to the ground in sleep.

Reido's smirk grew wider and wider as he saw the Shinx slow down until it dropped to the ground, fast asleep. "Hah, sweet dreams!" he effortlessly snatched up the item and examined it by looking at it in different angles while holding it.
Echo was happy that they didn't have to fight anymore and was glad that Hypnosis worked. This was the first time her master had used it against a wild Pokemon and she had feared the worst, but it seemed that the opponent was going to be asleep for a while. "Master Reido we should get out of here."
"...good idea. There might be more." he muttered, slipping the item in to his mocha-colored shoulder bag without a second thought. "We should focus on finding Travis."
The two of them went back in to the thick grass, leaving the Shinx behind.

(( Congrats, you've obtained 92P! ))
The Shinx continued through his slumber, fully unaware of the two pokemon taking the item that he was so intent on guarding. As they left, he smirked, as if he were dreaming that he actually beat them.
As the two continued through the grasses, the land rose, as if they were going up another 'floor', so to speak.
The tall grass continued to dominate, up until there was just a flat wall of it, impenetrable... or so it would seem. A Vulpix passed them, either not noticing them or not caring to battle, and entered the grass with ease. There were soft spots within the grass that could be entered, making it a sort of maze.
There was the other option of going around, but it was debatable on how long that would take versus going through the grass maze.

((Woot! I hope Reido wasn't shaken up too badly by that Tackle ono))
The Kirlia could feel a sort of tremor on the ground they were standing on, and without warning it seemed to rise from the ground, moving upward in to a place unknown. It surprised him enough to make him yelp, but he quickly recovered when he realized that this was how the dungeon let you 'advance a floor'. He never thought it would be done like this though.
Echo had been clinging on to him the entire time the ground moved upward in fright.
Once the mini quake stopped, they found themselves in front of even more tall grass, but the area was clearly different from where they were previously.
"A maze..." he silently watched the Vulpix enter the labyrinth. "Echo, what do you think? Up to solving a maze?"
"I-I guess..."
Reido smirked and boldly entered in, feeling confident after taking down that Shinx with ease. His partner followed after, but much more cautious and staying even closer to her master than before.

(( I wouldn't worry, so far he's fine. ^^ ))
The walls of the maze surrounded them much more closely than the grass walls of the dungeon itself, almost as if the sturdy grasses might decide to close in on them.
Twists and turns galore, one could easily see the maze as being never ending, but eventually it would come to a close. The exit was near, as indicated by the sound of another pokemon entering the maze on the other side. One decision remained at a cross road. One lead straight ahead, the other detoured to the left. Either one could be the exit.

((asklahldkhad laaate things have gotten busy lately))
Reido's pace was calmer now, if not mildly irritated. It seemed like they were walking around in circles with no way out, but a dungeon always had a way out, so there was no giving up.
And then things got slightly worse. "Crossroad." he muttered with a frown. "Which one do you think is the right one, Echo?"
"I'm sorry, Master, but I do not know."
"Yeah I know, me either." he glanced at the two roads over and over. "Well I can't really see what's straight ahead, but it doesn't look like these two roads converge again further in. Let's try left."
"Okay."
And so they went left.

(( That's fine, really. You're the only person in this thread, so unless it's a really long time, take as long as you need! :> ))
The one that lead left eventually curved to the right, as if it were the wrong way. However, it soon turned to the left again before finally going straight, revealing a wall of easily pushed over grass.
This seemed to be the exit, revealing the plain on the other side. Not so far off from the exit, there was something shining in the grass. Coming closer would reveal that they were gold coins with a large 'P' embedded into them, indicating that they were poke. The other pokemon saw it as unneeded, passing it and leaving it up for the taking.
(( Congrats, you've found 103P! ))
