As you all know, the PMD games are based around Mystery Dungeons, places that are full of surprises and adventure due to their changing floors and unexpected turns.
We, of course, will have dungeons here, but you can't just make a topic and RP. To keep things organized and engaging, dungeons will have two participants: The members who will react to what the dungeon throws at them, and the mod who will come up with various challenges, determine how well they do, and generally guide the members through.
First off, you can only have five active dungeon threads at a time, so that there aren't a bunch of threads that the mods have to manage and so that members don't get a bunch of items and money at the same time.
In dungeons, it's like a simplized version of DnD, with most outcomes determined by random number generators. Some stats are meant to influence those numbers in your favor.
For example, if you have have a high cleverness stat, then you have a higher chance of solving puzzles.
You also have a random chance of finding money and items throughout the dungeon, but they will not be officially added until the thread is complete.
Mods, when managing dungeon adventures, can slightly GM to move things along. Such as saying if your character is hit or if they moved along. However, such things are minor, but if you suspect that a mod might be doing too much, please PM For Lack of a Better Name.
And then there are jobs. Like in the game, you can take up jobs that mods made with NPC characters, or jobs that have been made by members with their own characters asking for help that have been approved.
You can go with another member into a dungeon, and if so, then a posting order will be arranged.
Also, at most only four characters can go into a dungeon at one time. The size restrictions from the games do not count.
Once you accept a mod's job, or a mod accepts your dungeon request, or you accept someone else's job with a mod agreeing to take you, the mod will set up the thread and you can post.
You can request to quit a dungeon thread, but this will result in three fourths of all items and money earned in it lost unless you use an escape orb.
If there are multiple members, and one hasn't posted for more five days, then a turn may be skipped onto the next member, and so forth, unless the other member(s) want(s) to wait for them to post; this excludes the GM of the thread, but apologies beforehand if it ever gets that long.
Dungeon threads with more than two members will be locked after a month of inactivity and all money and items lost, unless a member informs us of long absence beforehand. If there is more than one member in the thread and
a. one member informs us that they will be gone for some time or
b. a member wants to quit the dungeon thread
Then we will work out a solution, or the thread will be locked and the members withdrawn from it.
Those than only have one member will be far more lenient; although it would be preferred if absence was told beforehand anyways.
Have fun and good luck!
