For a while now Shi had been traveling by foot to get to the port city-town-village. In truth she had no idea what it really was as the absol hadn't left her own little seclusive village. With many different parties often trying to take over her family's and others' lands, it was hard not to see every other traveling pokemon who passed on by as non-suspicious. A bad habit really. Her blue eyes couldn't help but glare at everything she saw... But that wasn't to be good, she needed to change that. Her 'pocket's' very existence did depend on the generous souls of others, she was after all, a mercenary. Thanks to that job it was her fate to travel to the most popular town that would possibly land her a job. Already she had been able to smell the salt of the sea, taste it in the air. It was strange, a new sensation. Almost sticky.
As the absol had actually reached the Port, her eyes were overwhelmed with the multitude of colors. Her nose hurt with the hurdle of new scents smacked into her face and her ears were no better off. Traveling merchants had set up little bases in the different areas, both off to the side as well as in the center of the larger squares. Each crying out their wares as loudly as a loudred might. How was she to compete against these blasting voices?! She couldn't. Settled with that dim thought Shi immediately ran away from the shrieks and calls, dodging pass both residents and passing teams. She trotted quickly to the edge of the port where the water met the land. Her eyes widened as she could only stare silently at the large body of water.

Today hadn't been the best day for the Carracosta. As usual, Zeerum tried advertising his services, but it seemed that today all the other competitors were much louder than usual. One of the ways he advertised himself was that he was older and experienced, but try as he might, it seemed that everyone preferred the much more energetic, younger ones.
"Ah, fine then..." he mumbled, going off from the crowd of voices, "But as soon as ye' can't find ya' way, don't come runnin' after me." He couldn't compete anymore. At least not now. He decided to wait until it all died down, then maybe he could find a job. He walked towards the edge, intending to go back to his cave, but found a lone Absol.
"So, we don't have any impending disasters, do we?" he asked, "Or is this your first time seeing this? Sure is vast, ain't she?" he looked out as well, "Makes ye' wonder how far out it really goes..."

How long did she stare out into the sea? Not as long as it felt that was for sure but even still she just could not take her eyes off the ever moving waves. Their gestures were... poetic, if anything. Even away from the crying merchants, travelers, and other various advertising; Shi could still hear their calls. They were probably to be there all day, some even at night. Made her wonder if this port-town had some sort of tavern, a cafe for meeting perhaps. She could probably find some work there but alas that meant that she would have to charge through that clustered mess again. The absol couldn't help but sigh at the thought.
"So, we don't have any impending disasters, do we?" A voice echoed from behind. Surely the sudden appearance would have startled most but Shira merely glimpsed over to see who had addressed her. A carracosta. Not so rare in this water-type haven. "Or is this your first time seeing this? Sure is vast, ain't she? Makes ye' wonder how far out it really goes..."
The absol look between the ocean and this stranger. A small smile played onto her lips, I don't sense any worth-while dooms to report. And yes, this is my first time seeing this sort of... scenery. Shiranui replied quietly. She had to agree on how vast indeed the water claimed to be. Times like these she admired the water-types with their ability to scale the never-ending blue. She could only imagine what lay beneath that blue-green cover. Perhaps some ancient, forgotten underwater city? There were ruins on land so who was to say that there weren't ruins beneath the waves.
The female looked backed to the turtle pokemon. Have you also come to take a glimpse or are you merely escaping the chaos like I? She couldn't help but ask. It was amazing that anyone could stand to be around so much noise let alone smells. It was a good thing her nose wasn't as sharp as a full-blown canine's might've been. Oh the smelly nightmare.

Zeerum laughed to himself. He couldn't imagine never seeing such a large body of water in your life, but he grew up here, and traveled to all sorts of places, having bragged that he's seen everything more than once. From his observations, the ones that never saw the sea had two common reactions- immediately leap into it (and thus get themselves lost from going too far out), or like the Absol, stare out in wonder.
"Eh, a little bit of both." he said, shrugging, "It'sa tad unusual today, really. Usually ain't this busy, not to tha' point of where yer own voice becomes lost. I'd say waita' few moments later, should die down by then." he was speaking as someone who was used to such competition, "'Sides, nevar hurts to give tha' sea some 'preciation now and then."
"So, what place are ye' from that the ocean don't hit'it?" he asked, more out of curiosity.

As the Carracosta laughed to himself, Shiranui couldn't help but tilt her head at him. She must've had a reaction that was similar to most other tourists or travelers who had never seen the sea before. The or it was the complete opposite, which she highly doubted. How these local residents could manage to just be able to look out at such a wonder was beyond her, but then most pokemon have probably never seen as much snow or as many hot springs in their lives like she has. She certainly be chuckling too if someone stared at the snow like it was a new life form.
"Eh, a little bit of both. It'sa tad unusual today, really. Usually ain't this busy, not to tha' point of where yer own voice becomes lost. I'd say waita' few moments later, should die down by then."
Shi nodded in agreement. It certainly was a bit much for even this size of a town. Perhaps more merchants were coming in or something. A pulse of new teams and whatnot. Least it did give her time to admire the ocean as the old sea-turtle had said. Least she thought he was older, he seemed more capable than most of the younglings she usually came across.
"So, what place are ye' from that the ocean don't hit'it?"
Ah, I'm from Onut. She said simply, Everything is always covered in snow or hot water. Closest thing to the sea would be the springs I suppose. She mused. How true that was but then the springs weren't usually blue in color, always green, tan, or something similar to those. Just never blue. Have you ever been there before?

"Onut, huh?" Zeerum said, trying to recall if he had ever visited such a place, "... I think I might'ave been there before." he said, "Not exactly to tha' village, but the land seems mighty familiar. I once escorted this fellow toa' certain spot, he was goin' on about building some sort'of resort."
"Quite frankly, and no offense to ya', but I'd say it's insane to go all that way just fer some extra warm waters. If ya' really that desperate, then just hire a fire-type to warm it for ye'." Despite saying this, he did have a similar feeling of amazement when first visiting the wilderness. It was weird to see all the water frozen, instead of fluctuating up and down in his sense of normal. The thing that surprised him the most, however, were the geysers, especially when one went off only some feet away, spraying scorching water all around.

"... I think I might'ave been there before. Not exactly to tha' village, but the land seems mighty familiar. I once escorted this fellow toa' certain spot, he was goin' on about building some sort'of resort."
Ah so he had been there, or rather close-by really. It didn't surprise her that he had escorted some random land-buyer, it was never a new thing to the residents of Onut. She probably should have felt perhaps just a little angry at the fact he would escort those scum to her home but she did not. One had to make a living somehow, it wasn't right to just growl at a pokemon just trying to get on by. Besides, she was more interested in the fact that he actually guided his client there.
Were you an explorer, or rather still one? She asked curiously. Water-types were often hard to tell just what ages they were, well more specifically turtle-pokemon such as blastoise and torkoal and all them. They never seemed to age and when they did they were usually about three times your age. A strange thing really. Made her wonder just how long normal rock-types would live for...
"Quite frankly, and no offense to ya', but I'd say it's insane to go all that way just fer some extra warm waters. If ya' really that desperate, then just hire a fire-type to warm it for ye'." He had continued.
Shira let out a small chuckle. Oh if only life were that simple. I'm fairly sure a fire-type wouldn't want to go three feet near water. Unless they were hungry perhaps. The absol smiled; she'd pay to see a charmander or magmar warm water for others' convenience.

Zeerum nodded, chuckling himself, "Good point there. One can't help but wonder how they even keep themselves clean anyways..." He paused, remembering what the Absol had asked earlier.
"You could say so." he said, "It's more out'of necessity, really. If ya' tough enough, ya' can fight ye' way fer supplies, or even spend the night in a dungeon if ya' careful enough. However," he continued, "soon enough I figured why not make'a livin' and escort pokemon here an' there? I could swear that I've been from here all the way to tha' Donvur Fields."
He didn't question the Absol about what she was doing here, so far away from her icy home, not being the type to want to know about other's lives as much as he told about his own.

The Gardevoir stifled a yawn as he walked through the streets of Port Neiville. Despite being used to blocking out the loud noises of the town, he easily noticed that there seemed to be more...bustling. The roads were more clogged than usual, and so while maneuvering around them he had to keep one of his hands on his brown fedora hat. It wasn't exactly an important keepsake, but he liked the look, nevertheless.
He had his white dress stepped on a few times by other Pokemon, to his annoyance, but when he turned around to give them a little scolding, he couldn't even tell who did it. There were just too many of them.
Now his dress was all dirty with Pokemon footprints on it...ugh, how disgusting.
Eru the Gardevoir decided right then to go to the ocean to wash it off. If that was a few years ago, when he first arrived here, he would've gotten lost easily, but ever since then he had learned from his mistakes. Finding the big blue was now a breeze.
It didn't take long before he took a seat on a wooden port end and dipped his dress in the sea water. His legs were already touching the cool water as well, making him smile a bit. He had been here for a while, but the ocean was still so amazing to him...
Suddenly the sea breeze picked up, taking his hat with him to his surprise and horror. "Ack, no, my hat!" he watched it fly until it landed not too far from where he was...
On an Absol's head. He froze, unsure of what to do. Ugh, I should probably go get it...

Shira's smile grew wider as she couldn't even imagine a fire-type bath. All she could picture was a stick with a fluffy leaf on the end... Oh that was horrible. Lets not think any further into that lest her mask crack into some very unused to laughter. Wouldn't that just be dreadful.
"You could say so. It's more out'of necessity, really. If ya' tough enough, ya' can fight ye' way fer supplies, or even spend the night in a dungeon if ya' careful enough. However, soon enough I figured why not make'a livin' and escort pokemon here an' there? I could swear that I've been from here all the way to tha' Donvur Fields."
So he's been able to not only venture into the tougher dungeons but also camp out in them? Certainly something to aspire to. For some strange reason the absol could see that she may have a need to do that in the future, close or far. But the fact, or statement, that he declared about having just about traveled all over the lands made the absol feel an admiration for the veteran. The female opened her maw to speak but just before she could utter a word a strong wind cut her off. The salty air choked off her words. Yet there was something else, her head felt... warm? Had a swablu come to rest on her head? She tilted her to see just had landed on her head. Its not like she had the flexible paws to grab whatever it was.
Brown? A hat? How odd. How did this get here..? She wondered aloud, her head tilting to find the direction of wherever the owner of this item was. The only one she spotted that looked to be the owner was a gardevoir, standing down closer to the sea. That pokemon was the only one who seemed to take notice of the head wear anyway. Is this yours? The absol called to the psychic-type. Best to be sure.

"Err, yes, my apologies." the Gardevoir effortlessly teleported from where he was standing to right beside the two Pokemon, immediately becoming more wary of the Carracosta. He had seen him around the streets, but he had never really talked to him. What did he offer again..? Guiding?
"It isn't the first time my hat has ran away from me. The breeze here can be strong and unpredictable at times..." he said to the Absol, attempting to make the situation less awkward for him. "Hah, it looks pretty good on you if you ask me." he commented with a charming smile.

Zeerum straightened his posture a bit, liking the respect the Absol was giving him, although he always shared his experiences regardless. One could argue that he was just bragging, but the scratches and small scars on his shell and body seemed to say otherwise, at least when he pointed them out.
"Hm?" he said, wondering why the Absol wasn't responding, "Shellder got yer tongue?" he asked, but soon saw the hat that'd landed on her head, "Seems it's not just the crowds that're busier taday." Zeerum was used to the winds, even feeling a certain nostalgia whenever he breathed the salty air in.
Only looking when the Absol called to the Gardevoir, he quickly stepped back when he suddenly appeared. It was a natural reflex of his, having experienced a sneak-attack in a dungeon before. Zeerum noticed that the psychic-type seemed to be cautious of him. He would have thought that the Gardevoir would be more intimidated by the Absol, being a dark-type and all, but simply shrugged the thought off. He figured that it was either this or pokemon walking all over him for his services, "The winds are like sea currents, really. Sometimes ye' feel like everything has ta' be bolted down." he chipped in.

"Mm, yes, quite..." Eru murmured, thinking of what else to say. "By the way, I haven't introduced myself. My name is Eru, and I am a novelist." he decided to leave out the part that he wasn't exactly a renowned one, but he was trying his best. He glanced at the Carracosta for a moment. "I don't usually see you take time off like this...business slow today?" he had a little smirk on his face when he had said that, but there was no ill will behind the comment.

One moment the gardevoir was over there, then he was next to the duo. Teleport. Shiranui never did feel comfortable around creatures who could instantly appear behind her at any given moment. Like the carracosta, Shi also took a step back.
"It isn't the first time my hat has ran away from me. The breeze here can be strong and unpredictable at times..." He informed her. "Hah, it looks pretty good on you if you ask me."
A small smile slipped across the absol's features at the compliment. Thank you. Now if she had hands she would give it back instead she could only tilt her head forward so that could take it from her.
"The winds are like sea currents, really. Sometimes ye' feel like everything has ta' be bolted down." Her water companion had pitched in.
Shiranui blinked twice, the thought of some none twirling twister came to mind and blew everything away. She gave an involuntary shiver, I hope none of the buildings fly away... Even if she was an absol it didn't mean that she was all that familiar with disasters themselves. Actually she had never actually seen a real disaster before. Overly dramatic pokemon certainly weren't disasters, her village was sometimes filled with those whenever a 'buyer' came into town.
Caught in her thoughts the female hadn't realized the gardevoir beginning to introduce himself. Eru, he called himself and novelist at that. There was that sense of obligation that made her reply, Shiranui. A mercenary.

Zeerum smirked at the Absol taking what he said literally, "Nah." he said, shaking his head, "Else we'd be like that one... cloud city. Skyline, was it?" of all the places he'd been, Skyline City was a place that he had yet to really check off. Part of it was because he couldn't figure out how anyone other than flying got up there. Air balloon? He wouldn't fit in if he got there anyways, and from what he'd heard about the city, he could only guess that the pokemon there would rather stay on their cloud.
"Ah, well, not quite. It's really that it'sa tad too crowded, gonna' wait 'till later, might die down then." the Carracosta replied before following with, "Just call me Zeerum. Won't take any of that nickname nonsense. I be'an escorter, guide, whatever ya' want me ta' be fer places." he said, taking it as a chance to advertise himself a bit. Perhaps the Absol, Shiranui, might find him of use sometime.
